Do you feel like you'll never be an organized person?

I used to feel that way too. I have never been a neat person, and I was always envious of people who managed to keep their homes effortlessly clean and organized.

I was embarrassed to have people see our home because it was so out-of-control.

In an effort to solve the clutter problem in our house, I read organizing books and blogs, bought containers, and suffered through grueling cleaning sessions.

Even if I could get my home to look clean and organized for a while, I knew it would never last.

Things started to change for me when I started to see organization as an ongoing task instead of the perfect ideal to strive for. {That's why I named my blog Organizing Moms instead of Organized Mom! I'll always be organizing little by little}

I knew I needed to get rid of the clutter that was standing in the way of a peaceful, comfortable home for our family. I didn't need for our home to be perfect, I just wanted it to be livable!

So, I got to work. I created a realistic decluttering plan to get rid of the worst clutter offenders in our house. I worked my plan for 10 minutes a day, and I started to see progress.

I started to know where to find things. Our home started to feel calmer.
